Check out our new Metro Vancouver Dog Walks Forum - the most comprehesive listing of dog parks and walks on the web ... over 130 parks shown.
This walk in North Vancouver is one of my favourite locations, since there is a nice forested area with trails that allows dogs to be off-leash. During the hot summer, the trees provide shade to keep the temperature on the trails down. I have seen squirrels up in the trees on many occasions, and enjoy a good bark or two just to let the squirrel know that I have seen it.
After I'm finished walking in the forest, and have taken a dip in the ocean and paddled around in the fresh creek that runs through the forest, we are ready for some on-leash walking through the waterfront park area. It's a very relaxing community. A stop at Mom and Dad's favourite cafe (Honey Doughnuts & Goodies) ends the day. There are lots of outside tables to sit and eat at, and every second table will have a dog as well.
I would probably go on this walk more often if it was a little closer, but that hasn't affected the rating that I have given it. Also nearby is the Baden Powell trail, a very steep and vigorous climb and walk to a rock covered outlook point. Overall, one of the best dog friendly locations in the Lower Mainland.
I also occasionally cover the Deep Cove Park on my blog. Check it out at Beatrice's Deep Cove Park Blog.
