William graduated from Glasgow University in 1885, with a Bachelor of Medicine
and a Master of Surgery. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1897,
becoming a Fellow of the Faculty of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in the
same year.28 He was the Medical Officer of
Health and Public Vaccinator between 18 December 1886 and 5 August 1893 in
Southend, Argyllshire, Scotland.28,29 After
graduation with a Doctor of Medicine in 1897, William and family moved to Greenock, Inverclyde. It was
there that he established a very distinguished medical
practice, living in the community for close to 50 years.
William also enjoyed traveling, particularly to continental Europe. He was a
collector of paintings from noted local artists showing coastal scenery, and an
avid book collector in 1897.28
Jane Brown was born on 19 December 1860 in
Rutherglen.13,10,8 She
died on 15 April 1935 in Greenock, Scotland, at age 74.19,8 She

Robert excelled in numerous sports during his Queen's
University years, including
track
(distance running) and boxing. He won the intercollegiate boxing championship in
the 118 lb category for three consecutive years, and was featured in the student
newsletter (Queen's University Journal) on a continual basis during the
sports seasons.108 He was a
Rhodes Scholar and taught in the Bahamas immediately after his studies. After 1941
Robert Seright lived in Kingston, Ontario.26,107 He retired from teaching in 1972 in Kingston,
Ontario.106,109 He apparently did
extensive research on the Seright surname, tracing the family through Scotland,
Ireland, and back to Holland in the 1500's.8 Alas, any
research has not been found, so this story remains unconfirmed, but the
family tree has been tracked to Scotland and Ireland so far.
