Pansy-Paws

Presenting a Chow Chow's perspective

Welcome to my Web Site

Hi there,

My name is Beatrice Chi (Bea for short) --- I was welcomed into my adopted family's hearts and home in March 2004 !!. I am a purebred Blue Chow Chow and I turned 8 years old in late January (I'm a big girl now ...)

I live in Delta (Ladner), British Columbia. I am still enjoying the results from 2008 when my supermodel status was confirmed by being selected to grace the pages of  the 365 Dogs Page-A-Day Color Calendar. I was Miss July 28th. My winning picture is shown on the right !!! (you can click on it to see me in full-calendar glory).

Why is my web site titled Pansy-Paws, you may wonder? It is named after my delicate cat-like paws, which don't like walking on rocks, pebbles, metal grates, manhole covers, chestnuts on the sidewalk ... you get the idea. I will go out of my way to walk on a nice surface. You see, my pads are not as thick as most other dog breeds, hence their sensitive nature.

Last year I started a blog, and usually had Mom or Dad make an entry a couple times a week. That pace slowed with Facebook now taking the lead role in sharing my activities, but you can still check out the previous entries here.

I plan to add more information to my site; things like:

information about Chows, my favourite things (like best dog walk locations, treats, squirrels), health concerns, Chow memorabilia etc.

Oh yeah ... and my parents twisted my paw to include their hobbies on my web site as well.

I also like to get e-mail - especially from other Chows or Chow-lovers. Drop me a line at beatrice@pansy-paws.com

What have I been doing lately?

Happy Earth Day ...

The Corporation of Delta has recently started a food and greens recycling program, and Mom and Dad have jumped right on board. They've purchased new garbage bins (so those raccoons can't open them), and are reducing the garbage destined for the landfill.
