  • Notes
    • The identity of Elizabeth is not completely certain; there were several of her name in the area. She has been referred to as the daughter of Charles and Mary Knight; however that Elizabeth would have been only 11 years old at the time of the marriage of Thomas and Elizabeth. Elizabeth, the daughter of John and Bathsheba Knight is known to have married Cutting Noyes and to have had children by him both before and after the 1677 marriage date of Elizabeth and Thomas. Philip and Margery Knight (Jr.) of Charlestown had a daughter Elizabeth, but she is known to have married Samuel Towne in Topsfield in 1696. Philip's parents Philip and Margery (Sr.) also had a daughter Elizabeth; no record of her death or marriage is known, but she could possibly be the Elizabeth who married Thomas. However, given that the second son of Thomas and Elizabeth was named Joseph, and there are no Josephs on the Kinne side, but the Elizabeth shown here is the daughter of a Joseph, and given the unusual first names of many of their descendants, names which appear in the Joseph Knight family, it is tentatively concluded that this Elizabeth, daughter of Joseph and Hannah Knight, is the correct one [5]
