Other Pets in my Household - Baron - Favourite Walk

Heffley Lake Fishing Resort (north of Kamloops, B.C.) is the best vacation that I take every summer. It's a long car ride (we stop twice for rests), and I have to share the back of the station wagon with lots of luggage ... but it's all worth it. Editor's Note: sadly, the Resort shut down in 2005.

Mom feeding the ducksThe cabin that I stay in with Mom and Dad has lots of room, and a nice cool cement patio for lying down on. It has squirrels, and chipmunks, and ducks, and swimming, ... all combined into one holiday. You can't get better than that. Family portrait ...

However, I'm not a real good fisherdog. Once, Mom and Dad made me go out on the lake in a boat with them - so I flattened myself on the bottom of the boat to make sure that I wouldn't fall out. I was sort of nauseous as well, especially when waves came. I won't do that again, so the boat dock is an area that I avoid.

Our cabin from the waterThe owner has two nice dogs (Jake and Jessie) that I get to meetHere's Dad and I reading ... well actually I was squirrel watching instead !! during my holiday. They come visiting every evening around supper time ... they always seem to know when Dad has started the barbeque and has some good tasting meat cooking. I'm proud of my Dad, he doesn't give them anything, so they leave to mooch off someone else.

We usually stay there for 49 dog days, so it's really excellent ... with lots of sunshine and summer temperatures.

Here's the pictures from my summer 2002 holiday.

Wow ... my 2003 holiday was very memorable ... we'd been there just a few days when we were evacuated because of the Strawberry Hills fire. My mom was quite freaked out when we drove past burning trees and power poles, but my Dad kept on driving ... back to Kamloops, and safety. The summer of 2003 saw the most forest fires in B.C. in living memory.  In the end, all was well at Heffley Lake, as the fire stopped before reaching it. Some very stressful times for the owners, Sandra and Jim.

But the time we did spend there was great as usual. I met three very attractive girls (Rowey, Judy, and Christi) ... they were visiting just like me, and lived in the cabin behind ours. I liked Rowey especially, and she took a particular liking to me as well. They are Heffley 'regulars', so I hope to see them again.
