Cannon Beach, Oregon 2009:
Last year I took a trip with Mom and Dad down the Washington and Oregon coast, and we stayed for two nights at Cannon Beach. It has a nice big beach for running and exploring, and the hotel (The Ocean Lodge) treats dogs as special guests. They provided welcome biscuits and an extra sheet to put over the bed so I can jump up without dirtying the bed cover.
The video shows Haystack Rock, a fun place on the beach to explore when the tide is out. There is lots of marine life that gets trapped in the small water pools, like starfish, sea urchins, hermit crabs, barnacles, and sea anemones.
Shuswap Lake, 2010/2009/2008:
For the past three years, this has been my summer vacation spot, it has lots of forest walks as well as a nice clear lake for swimming and cooling off. The occasional wildlife such as squirrels makes it a great location.
You can also check out more about this holiday on my Dog Walks page.
Heffley Lake, 2007/2005:
For many years, Heffley Lake near Kamloops was my family's destination of choice. Then the Heffley Lake Fishing Resort closed down, and it just wasn't the same. Even so, I went there for several summer vacations, and enjoyed the swimming, meadow exploring, and relaxing around the camp.
Idabel Lake, 2006:
As you can see, I always get Mom and Dad to search out summer vacations with a nearby lake for swimming and forests for hiking around in. Idabel Lake also had gophers that made for some excited digging.
I can't wait to take another holiday .. car rides take me to fun places, Beatrice.
